William Self

William Lawrence "Pop" Self, age 78 of Springville, AL passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014. He served as a deacon at Oak Grove Baptist #1 and Red Hill Baptist for a total of 34 years. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He worked for Mark Bell and Bill Gantt Flooring for several years. After retiring from AmSouth Maintenance he owned Ellison Flooring in Oneonta, AL and Self Flooring in Springville, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manly and Imogene Self. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret Williams Self; sons, Bill (Beth) Self, Jim (Suzy) Self; daughter, Regina (Gary) Simmons; sisters, Mary (David) Keith and Peggy (Thomas) Helton; brothers, Donny (Bonnie) Self, Danny (Pauline) Self and Jimmy (Annette) Self; grandchildren, Josh Self and Austin Self, Justin and Christian Simmons, Haley and Andrea King; great grandson, Graham Simmons. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8PM on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be on Thursday at 2:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Red Hill Baptist Cemetery in Springville, AL. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
