Grissom, William C. “Bill” passed away on June 9, 2020. Bill, affectionately called “Papaw” by family and friends, was born in Russellville, Alabama on July 30, 1929. He was a member of the Russellville, AL Masonic Lodge #371. After proudly serving his country as a member of The U.S. Air Force, he moved to Birmingham and was employed by the Federal Aviation Administration. Bill retired in 1989 after over 30 years of dedicated service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Grissom; his parents, George and Pearl Grissom; two brothers, Joe and Hoyt Grissom. Survivors include his children Bill Grissom(Terry), David Grissom, Karen Love(David); Grandchildren Jessica Fortenberry(Scott), Matthew Grissom(Kayde) and Alex Love; Great-grandchildren Kaylee, Landon and Addie Fortenberry; Graycee Kate and Luke Baker Grissom; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, June 13, 2020 from 1PM-3PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Trussville. The funeral service will begin at 3pm in the chapel. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
