Walter David "Dave" Hooper, born September 15, 1925 departed this life on August 28, 2010. He served his country in the Navy during World War II. He was retired after 40 years with Barber Pure Milk Company. Dave was an avid golfer and he truly enjoyed restoring antique motorcycles. While working for George Barber, Dave suggested that Mr. Barber consider adding motorcycles to his collection of classic sports cars. That collection grew to what is now known as the world renowned Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Raymond and Annie Belle Hooper; two brothers, Billy and Junior Hooper. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mildred "Sunshine" Hooper and one daughter Sherry Roberts (Nick) and three brothers, James Hooper (Joan), Bobby Hooper (Ann) and Buddy Hooper. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 29 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel services will be held on Monday, August 30 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
