Walter Copus

Walter L. "Bud" Copus, 80 of Birmingham died suddenly at home on May 14, 2010. Bud was a Korean War veteran and enjoyed coaching sports and watching the grandchildren play as well. He was the owner of Bud Copus Carpets in Woodlawn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Cleo and one grandchild, Darryl "Bucky". Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Lois Edwards Copus; six children, Lynn Combs (Jim), Lee Copus (Kim), Terry Foster (Jim), John Copus (Leah), Frank Copus (Janet) and Kathy Paesano (John); Other survivors include his ten grandchildren whom he adored; one brother, Robert L. Copus and nephews, Bill and Scott Copus. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 18 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel services will begin on Wednesday, May 19 at 12:00 PM and burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
