CORBIN, VARINA ROGERS, age 88, of Birmingham AL passed away January 17, 2013. In her last days she was radiant and angelic, and preferred singing over eating. She now sings with angels in Heaven's choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Cecil Corbin; sons, Philip Wayne Freeman and Mark Corbin; her parents, Veda Josephine Mills Rogers and Newton Cook Rogers; granddaughter, Marla Pierce, and one brother, Ewart Rogers. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda McLellan Mann; sons, Stephen Corbin and Alan Corbin; sisters, Arranelle Meisner, Francine Golden, and Elaine Orth; granddaughters: Lana Vedell Shania Freeman, and Melissa Freeman; grandson, Gary Pierce; daughter-in-law, Kathryn "Katy" Wall Corbin; many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Services will be held at Jefferson Memorial Chapel on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 12:00 PM. Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday. Burial will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East; Lloyd Barker and John Adams will be officiating. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Fair Haven Nursing Home and Gentiva Hospice for their loving care of Mrs. Corbin. Jefferson Memorial Directing.
