Thomas Lloyd Coker, 83, of Altoona, Alabama, died Monday at home. He was born to the late Cleo Keith Coker Smith and John Coker on January 17, 1930 in Birmingham, Alabama. Tom attended Phillips High School. He married Mary Margaret Boyd in 1950, and they lived in Birmingham for 47 years, before retiring to Altoona, Alabama in 1998. He is a member of Pioneer Baptist Church. Tom retired from McClauley Architect in 1980 and founded Coker Printing. Later, he expanded his printing business with new technology and founded Precision Color next door to Coker Printing. He retired from these companies in 1995. During retirement, he wanted to keep busy and began a position as Door Greeter at WalMart. He most recently enjoyed his position at WalMart in Springville in the garden shop. Tom is survived by his wife Mary; his son Tommy Coker (Dawn) of LaGrange, Georgia, whose children include Matt Coker Limbaugh, Chris Coker Limbaugh, Amy Strong, Mary Beth Coker, Laura Huller, Cheryl Goss, Brittany Guthrie, Lindsay Summerlin, and Blake Walburg; his daughter Connie Harris (Barry) of Ft. Myers, Florida, whose children include Brian Limbaugh, Lara Landry, Melissa Calabro, Todd Harris, and Brittany Harris; and daughter Pattie Harris (George) of Birmingham, Alabama, whose children include Chad Crocker, Wade Croker, Lauren Sims, and Chris Belcher. Tom also had 20 great grand-children with number 21 on the way. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, September 5, 2013. Funeral services for Tom will be September 6, 2013 at 10:00. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
