Stephen Leonard

Stephen Phillips Leonard, 62, of Birmingham, AL, and Miramar Beach, FL, passed away on March 25, 2010. Stephen was in the US Navy from 1967- 1970, and served in Vietnam. He was a Certified Management Accountant and graduated from UAB. He worked for Liberty National Insurance and then as treasurer of Vesta Insurance until he retired in 1997. Steve will be remembered as trustworthy, honest, kind and a true gentleman. He was preceded in death by his mother, Flora Mae Phillips Leonard Snuggs; father, Thurman "Pete" Leonard; and step-father, Edward C. Snuggs. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 29 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel services will be held on Tuesday, March 30 at 12:00 PM with Rev. William Martin Gray, Jr., officiating with burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Survivors include his wife, Janice Ann Toop Leonard; one son, Jeffrey Phillips Leonard and wife, Elena Strong Leonard; grandchildren, Ann Elise Leonard and Claire Elena Leonard; and one uncle, Bruce Phillips.
