Samuel Brown

Samuel "Sam" G. Brown, age 84, passed away and went home to be with the Lord on June 6, 2011 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born in Jefferson County in 1926. He served in the U.S. Army 1945-1947. He was retired from US Steel with 35 years of service. He was always thought of as the "Biggest Republican." Loved playing golf and working in his yard. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. He is survived by his wife, Jean "Baby;" daughter, Brenda (Eddie); grandchildren Julia, and Chuck (Brittney); sister, Helen Wadley; many nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 3:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service time. Pastor Donnie Messer will be officiating. The family would like to give a special thanks to Nancy and Bobbie for their tireless effort, time and care giving. We will love and miss "Papa" forever. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
