Rubye Frances Dees Goolsby ("Baba" to many who knew her) was born on December 13, 1939 in Greenville, AL to Fred and Frances Dees and was raised in Birmingham, AL. With complete confidence in God's sovereign comfort, Frances briefly and bravely endured small-cell lung cancer until the Lord called her home on November 7, 2012. Frances "Baba" attended Graymont Elementary and graduated from West End High School. She will most notably be remembered for a lifetime of selfless service -- pouring herself out for loved ones and strangers alike -- and her indelible legacy will be one of complete devotion and trust in Jesus Christ. She was a caretaker and member of St. Mark Methodist Church in Ocean Spings, MS. She was preceded in death by her dad (Fred Dees), mom (Frances Hall), brothers Charles "Bubba" Dees and Wayne Dees. She is survived by her daughters Michelle Goolsby (Ed) of Trussville, AL and Melody Lawson (Tim) of Ocean Springs, MS; granddaughters Autumn Smith McAllister (Daniel), Berkley Anne Smith, and Cassie Smith of Trussville, AL; Mary Page Bronis and Emilia Bronis of Ocean Springs, MS. Graveside services will be on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 1:00PM at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. After the services there will be a reception at Sherry's Cafe on Valley Rd in Trussville.
