Robert Messer

Robert E. Messer, age 91, of Birmingham, passed away on June 18, 2020. He retired from Birmingham Police Department after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #480 of Leeds and a member of the Zamora Temple. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Messer; parents, Price and Eva Messer; sisters, Jean Wann and Martha Herring; brother, Jack Messer. He is survived by his children, Carla Vickery and Ronald Messer; grandchildren, Jennifer Dickinson and Ryan Messer; great grandchildren, Dawson Findley, Andrew Dickinson, Arianna Hutchings and Abigail Messer. A funeral for Robert will be held on June 22nd at 2PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Jefferson Memorial’s adjoining cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor R.J. Horstman is officiating.
