Mary Roberts

Mary Helen Roberts, age 90, from Clay, AL born August 17, 1931 passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on May 31, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Jessie Walker; husband, Herbert J. Roberts; two sons, Eddie Dean Endsley and Elton Jay Endsley; six brothers: JB, Grady, Finis, Marvin, Arvil and Gene Walker; three sisters: Velma Gillihan, Alma Wilson and Betty Walker. Mary is survived by her loving daughter, Reba Nappier (Roger); grandsons, Jason Nappier, Jamie Endsley (Amber); granddaughters, Crystal Coulon (Clint), Jessie Henderson (Jonathan); great-grandchildren, Evan Nappier, Gracelynn and Emmie Jo Endsley, Carson Henderson and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary was better known to her family and friends as “Nanny.” She enjoyed watching NASCAR, watching her “stories” on TV, and listening to country and Gospel music.

Nanny was originally from Oneonta, AL. Even though she moved out of the country, she remained a country girl at heart. She always enjoyed cooking for family gatherings and holidays.

Our Nanny will be missed but never forgotten. She will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice Nurses for the tender care they extended to Nanny.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 6, 2022 at 11:00am at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Trussville, AL. Followed by Chapel Services at 12:00. Eulogy will be delivered by Nanny’s friend and neighbor, Polly McClure.
