Mary Hue Marsh LaMarsh, 84, of Center Point died on October 29, 2010 at her home. Mrs. LaMarsh was born February 25, 1926, in Lawrence County, Alabama to Ernest M. Marsh and Nancy Walker Marsh. She married James W. LaMarsh in 1953. She graduated from Florence State Teachers' College with a B.S. in Business Education. A few years later, she graduated from Peabody College, in Nashville, TN, with a Master of Arts in Business Education. Mrs. LaMarsh taught school for over forty years. She taught all ages, from elementary to retirement-aged students. She taught elementary school in Charleston, S.C. and in Ohio. She taught high school business courses in Red Bay, AL, Portland, TN, Double Springs, AL, and Bear Creek, AL. She began teaching in the business department at Jefferson State Junior College in 1967, where she served for twenty years. She retired in 1989. Mrs. LaMarsh was an active member of First Baptist Church of Center Point, AL. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Lorene Grainger. Mrs. LaMarsh is survived by her husband of 57 years, James Wilfred LaMarsh of Center Point, and by her daughter, Susan LaMarsh Field and husband Scott Field, of Huntsville, AL. Mrs. LaMarsh is also survived by her grandson, David James Field of Rochester, N.Y., and her granddaughter, Ellen LaMarsh Field Adams and husband Alexander Adams of Kennesaw, GA. Services will be held on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 12:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Pastor Bobby Earls officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Mrs. LaMarsh. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
