Mary Grogan

Mary S. Grogan, of Birmingham, AL passed away on June 17, 2017. She was preceded in death by beloved husband, W. Fred Grogan; son, Steve Grogan, & her parents, Louie M. & Martha Sanders. She was also preceded in death by her great grandson, Joshua Smith. After graduation Mary worked for Liberty National Life Insurance Co. for five years. After having her children she began her career at Internal Revenue Service, from where she eventually retired. After retiring she enjoyed volunteering for 11 years in the church office with her friends mailing out chimes. She enjoyed attending all the Birmingham firefighter functions with her husband, Fred. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. She kept her family in her caring thoughts at all times. She will truly be missed by all that knew & loved her. Those left to cherish the love & memories of Mary include: her daughter, Sherry Todd (Dale); her grandchildren, Chris Todd (Ashley), Andrew Todd (April), Wesley Todd (Shea) & Hollie Smith; her great grandchildren, Kimberly Owens (Michael), Brooke Smith, Shelbie Smith, Alyssa Todd, Lucas Todd, Maxwell Todd, Kyleigh Todd & McKenzie Barnard; one great-great granddaughter, Kamryn Owens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to East Lake UMC or your favorite charity. Mary's funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 20th at Jefferson Memorial Chapel in Trussville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Sally Allocca is officiating.
