Martha Franklin

FRANKLIN, MARTY age 70, of Center Point AL passed from her husband's hands into the Lord's hands February 5, 2013. She was a member of Springville Community Church for several years, and retired from being a mother and Mimi on Tuesday, February 5. She was born in Detroit MI on March 18, 1942. Her family later traveled to Grand Prairie TX where her father was stationed with the U.S. Navy. While residing in TX she met her husband of 52 years, Jim Franklin. In 1960 they were married in Birmingham AL and continued to reside in Center Point AL, where they raised they raised their three daughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ogden and Martha Maynard; niece, Tara Patterson; father-in-law, J.W. Franklin Sr.; brother-in-laws, Terry Franklin and Bob Wheeler. She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Franklin; daughters, Wendy Franklin, Martha Driggers (Bryor) and Jamie Hansard (Rodney); grandchildren, Kyle, Zachary, Emma, Sydney, Jake, Gillian, Reagan, and family pet, Woody; sisters, Carol Wheeler and Laura Patterson; mother-in-law, Ira Dean Franklin; brother-in-law, Ben Franklin and family. Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 9, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Pastor Thad Blount officiating. Jefferson Memorial in Trussville directing. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to Springville Road Community Church in Center Point, AL.
