Mackie Davis Moore, age 92, went to be with her Lord and her family that have gone before her on July 16, 2016. She was a former member of West Woodlawn United Methodist Church, and a present member of Avondale United Methodist Church. Due to her health, she was unable to attend church, but she loved her church. She worked at Sears Roebuck Service Center for 30 or more years until she retired at the age of 79. She was a wonderful cook and loved her kids and grandkids. She was an avid baseball fan. She is survived by one sister, Ola M. Fulton of Belleville, IL, two special brother-in-laws, Richard S. Moore of Evansville, IN and Dewey Bradley of Ozark, AK, her children, Linda Hogan Goodwin, Richard L. Moore (Debra), and Terry W. Moore (Sonia) all from Birmingham, AL, her grandchildren, Jeane Goodwin, Charles (Chuck) Goodwin, and Ethan Moore, great-grandchildren, Kris Goodwin, Conner Crumpton, C.R. Goodwin and Loftin Goodwin and three step-grandsons, Tyler Higginbotham, Josh and Sam Andrews, and several nieces and nephews, and special friend, Kathleen Miller. The family wishes to thank her Doctor V. Prelipcean at Deerfoot Internal Medicine, and Fair Haven Rehab especially the doctors and nurses, a special thanks to Martha, Cee Cee, and Melisa at Fair Haven. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make donations to Avondale United Methodist Church marked Restorations or to the Birmingham Human Shelter on Snow Drive. There will be a graveside memorial service at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Reverend Malinda Weaver of Avondale United Methodist Church officiating. Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
