Leslie was born in Alabama City, AL, graduated from Woodlawn High School and attended Montevallo College. She married her childhood sweetheart, Bill, and devoted her life to serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, being a loving wife to her husband and a wonderful mother. She was fully engaged in raising and educating her children and grandchildren. Leslie was a member of First Baptist Church Trussville for over 50 years, an active member of Grace Sunday School Class and numerous other church activities and organizations.

Leslie was a life-long resident of Trussville & Birmingham. She loved to travel and spend time at the beach. She was member of singing seniors, taught Sunday School and English to children and adults. She loved visiting friends, the homebound and was often seen at grandchildren's games and events. She made delicious Chess pies.

Leslie is a child of God. Her Spiritual gifts included showing love, mercy and acceptance through her shining eyes and warm, genuine smile. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." Psalm 116:15 Leslie Dickinson is truly a precious saint.

Leslie was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Garlington Carter, Sr. and Pauline Travis Carter, her brothers, Dewey G. Carter, Jr., Lelias C. Carter and Wayne D. Carter.

She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years William (Bill) C Dickinson, Sr., her children William C. Dickinson Jr. (Debbie), Richard T. Dickinson, Nancy D. Pritchard (Jim) & Jean D. Robinson (Fred), her brother Matthew R. Carter (Betty), her grandchildren, Jennifer Hernandez (Tony), William C. Dickinson III, Nathan Dickinson (Kristy), Richard T. Dickinson Jr., Stacey Dickinson, James A. Pritchard III (Mallory) & Jonathan Carter Pritchard and her great grandchildren Leighton and Lennox Hernandez, Makayla, Samantha and Christian Dickinson and Amelia Lee Pritchard.
