Kenneth Friday

Kenneth Lauvelle Friday, Sr., age 69, of Warrior, AL passed away May 28, 2011. He loved the Lord and was a member of Mount High Baptist Church. He graduated from Hewitt Trussville High School in 1959, he retired from Vulcan Rivet and Bolt Company. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt serving from 1960-64. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Marvin L. and Sybil K. Friday. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Algenia "Genia" Friday; sons, Kenneth "Kenny" Lauvelle Friday, Jr., Kip Lee Friday (Lisa), Kevin Dale Friday (Amber Martinique); grandchildren, Kayla Sharee, Austin Chase, Colton Laird and Luke Ryan Friday; siblings, Elaine McPherson(Samuel Ray), Joan Ellenburg, and Bobby Leon Friday (Frances); numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Services will be on Tuesday May 31 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home at 2pm in the Chapel with burial in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Rev. Tim Blackmon officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30pm until 2pm. Pallbearers will be Chase and Colton Friday, David and Mark McPherson, John Ellenburg, Robby Miller, Gary White, Howie Wilder. Memorials may be made to the Veteran's Administration and to Mount High Baptist Church in honor of Mr. Friday. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
