On March 17, 2020, Kenneth W. Deason answered a call from Jesus to come for his appointment in Heaven. He was born on June 7, 1949 in Clanton, Alabama to Van Poe and Grace Irene Deason. He was a Boy Scout obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout and served 30 years as a Scout Master. He attended Banks High School and after graduation he went into the Army.
He served his country in the 20th Special Forces Group in Germany, and while in Germany he was imprisoned behind the Iron Curtain for smuggling Bibles. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Marlon P. Deason. He is survived by his wife, Jan Deason, 3 children, Matt (Stephanie), Mark (Jennifer) and Melissa, his eight grandchildren and two great grandson, his sister Sara Bell (Joe) and several nieces and nephews.
Ken loved God and His Word. He was a member of Clear Branch Church for 22 years, serving on mission trips he helped to build many churches to spread Gods Word. He was a Godly role model not only for his children but for everyone he met. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Due to the Corona Virus we are having a private viewing and graveside service as a concern for the safety of others and this spreading disease. A Memorial Service will be held at a later time.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for us during the difficult time.
