John Lowery

John W. Lowery, Jr., age 89 of Birmingham, AL passed away on July 19, 2010. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He was a life member of Concordia Club and life member of VFW. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #79. He was a former member of the Knights Dance Club where he enjoyed ballroom dancing. He was a WWII Veteran. He retired from ACIPCO after 40 years of service where he was a member of the ACIPCO Supervisor's Club. He enjoyed reading, fishing, and hunting. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Services will be Thursday July 22, at 10am in the Chapel with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Father Andy Kennedy officiating. Visitation will be from 5pm until 7pm Wednesday. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Ethel Presto Lowery; daughters, Sandra L. (Murphy) Mostellar, Margo Lowery (Stan) Jeffery, son John W. (Mary) Lowery III, sister Gail Bearrentine, brother Walter O. Lowery, grandchildren Jan Butler, Michael Mostellar, Tanya Durant, John W. Lowery IV, Wendy Covitz, Beau Lowery, great grandchildren Jackson Durant, Chloe Lowery, several nieces and nephews.
