Jewell Jones

JONES, JEWELL MAE Jewell Mae Jones, 87, of Birmingham, passed away on August 28, 2010. Mrs. Jones was a devoted mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a life long member of St. Michaels Episcopal Church and had retired from ARA Food Services in 1986. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Claude W. Jones. She is survived by her daughters, Judy Tortorigi (Matt Martin) and Jackie Parker (Bill); grandchildren, Jeremy (Maleia), Jessica and Jill Tortorigi; great grandchild, Dominic Tortorigi and neighbor and dear friend, Sue Parham. The family would like to thank the staff and the nursing assistants at Hearthstone, Debra, Linda, Debra, Shirley, Tracy, Esther, Peggy, Anita and Jane and the 6th Floor Nurses at St. Vincent's East. The family also wishes to give a special thank you to Corliss Knight for her loving care through this difficult time. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 beginning at11:30 AM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with graveside services beginning at 1:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
