James Odis Rylant of Central Park passed away June 9, 2016 after a brief illness. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his willingness to help others. James was a veteran of World War II where he received several medals including the Purple Heart & Bronze Star. He retired from American Bridge. Survivors include his wife, Ellen Marie Rylant; daughters, Deborah Connell (Carl), Terrie Garner (Larry), Joyce Robinson (Sammy); grandchildren, Carmen Connell, Christina Connell, Brian Burnett, Stephanie Calamusa, Lisa Calamusa, Michael Calamusa; great grandchildren, Nova Burnett, Keith Keranen, Kristen Calamusa; cousins, nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 11am at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity.
