James Acker

James "Mickey" Acker, of Birmingham, AL passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the age of 65. He was a loving and devoted Husband, Daddy, and PawPaw. He was a member of Rock First United Methodist Church of Tarrant, AL. He was a retired Birmingham Fireman. He was also a service technician for Sears Roebuck Co. Mr. Acker was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Gladys Acker, sister, Irene Parker, and a brother, Dan Acker. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years this May 7th, Nancy Acker; daughters, Tracy McLeod (Ralph) of Alabaster, AL, Christy Naylor (Allan) of Argo, AL, and Stephanie Canterbury (Ricky) of West Blockton, AL; sister, Mabel Murphy of Brighton, AL; brother, Sammy Acker (Sue) of Montevallo, AL; grandchildren, Briana, Brooke, and Blake McLeod, Allana and Jay Naylor, Olivia and Zach Canterbury; numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Services will be Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Pastor Patrick Turner and Rev. Henry Segars will be officiating the services. Memorials may be made to Rock First United Methodist Church, Tarrant, Alabama. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
