Helen Cook

Helen Ruth Cook age 88, of Birmingham, AL. passed away on July 28, 2013. Helen was born March 18, 1925, in Decatur, AL. She was the daughter of the late John Henry Smith and Illa Helen Summerford. She is preceded in death by her brother Thomas Arthur Smith. She was a graduate of Morgan County High School. She was a devoted wife of 53 years to the late Joe Gordon Cook of Hartselle, Al. Helen was a wonderful mother of two sons, Joe (Rusty) Cook, (Elaine) and Scott Cook (Diana). She was cherished by all six grandsons: Wayne Cook (Breanne), Joe Cook II, Daniel Cook III, Matt Cook, Clinton Cook (Kay), Bradford Cook, three great granddaughters and a host of nieces and nephews. She loved her entire family and her family loved her. Visitation: Wed. July 31, 2013 9-10 am Jefferson Memorial (Trussville). Funeral Service 10 am, immediately following visitation. Family graveside burial 2pm Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Morgan County AL.
