Harvey Chandler Sr

Harvey Glenn Chandler Sr., 77, of Birmingham, died Thursday, February 20, 2014.He was born to the late John H. Chandler and Ivy Jones Chandler, December 12, 1936. He attended Woodlawn High School, and he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1953. He married the late Mary Louise Runyan Chandler on August 22, 1953, and was married 42 years. Glenn was an active member of the American Legion Post 171. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, Fraternal Order of Eagles and Fraternal Order of Elks. He loved bass fishing and camping. He enjoyed working with The Bass Masters Classic events and the Walmart FLW. Glenn is survived by five children : Glynda (Randal) Morgan of Springville, Al, Harvey (Judy) Chandler Jr. of Geraldine, Al, Forest (Sherri) Chandler of Springville, Al, Libby Bulkley of Talladega, Al, and Matt (Kathy) Chandler of Trussville, Al. He is survived by his long- time companion, Jean Justice. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was also known as Pawpaw to a host of children and he leaves behind many loved family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Charity of their choice. Graveside services will be 12:00 pm Monday at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville with Marine Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 am until 11:45 am at the funeral home. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing the services.
