George L. Summers, (May 18, 1927 - June 19, 2011), age 84, died peacefully Saturday at his home in Parker, Colorado surrounded by family. A native of Birmingham, he owned and operated Summers Sewing Center for 20 years before retiring in 1992. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, "sewing machine man," and friend to all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Louise, sons Cliff and Craig, daughters Deborah and Annette, brother Buddy, two sisters Margaret and Gloria, daughter-in-law Faith, seven grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held graveside Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens on Hwy 11, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to The Denver Hospice, 501 South Cherry St., Suite 700, Denver, CO 80246.
