Wegent, Frank

Frank was born August 3, 1954 and passed away at home August 20, 2013. He graduated from Banks High School where he was an outstanding Drum Major and from Birmingham Southern College with a BA in music specializing in teaching; and was a member of Town and Gown Theatre for many years, the band director at Leeds Junior High, sang and directed many church choirs, including West Grove United Methodist. He is survived by his mother, Geraldine V. Wegent; his aunts and many loving cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, frank Joseph Wegent; his brothers, Stephen Michael and Karl Anthony; his grandmother, Myrtle S. Vaughn, and grandparents, Frank and Nellie Wegent. All who met Frank became a friend for life, as he loved people and building relationships with them. He was a beloved son, friend, and musician, and he will be missed. Memorial service: Sat., August 24, 2013 at 2pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation: 1-2pm. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Pastor Richard Jones officiating.
