Flora Sargent

Flora Grace Hanks Sargent, age 80 of Birmingham, AL passed away on December 19, 2012. She was a member of NorthPark Baptist Church. She was retired from Consolidated Freight Ways after 30 years of service. In the early 60s she was the owner and president of Allstate Cartage Company at Doc's Warehouse in Birmingham, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grace Greer Hanks and Louis B. "Jack" Hanks and her husband, W.E. "Ed" Sargent. She is survived by her son, William E. "Billy" Sargent; daughter, Cheryl Lynn Price; brothers, Virgil C. Hanks, Louis B. Hanks; grandchildren, Jackie Sargent, Stacy Thornton, Dylan Price, Christine Sargent Moulder, and William Sargent III; great grandchildren Gracie Ragan, Abby Ragan, and Taylor Thornton; other family member Connie Zeitvogel. Visitation will be on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 from 9 until 10 am at Jefferson Memorial. Service will begin at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
