Dorothy Kite

Our beloved Granny, Dorothy M. Kite, left us on Thursday, June 27th to go be with her Lord and to be reunited with the love of her life, Da. She was 81. She is survived by her sons, Jeff Kite (Debbie) and Bruce Kite (Janet); grandchildren, Chad, Jake, Caitlin, Caitlin's mother, Chita; Anna, and Sarah, and their mother, Sherri; great grandson, Noah; her sister, Margaret Stokes of Birmingham; sisters-in-law, Shirley Thacker (sister) of Tarrant and Mary Ann Kite of Weaver; as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She worked at Stockham Valves and Fittings in the early days and in the purchasing department for SONAT for over 20 years. She was a devoted member of St. John's United Methodist Church for over 30 years. Her homecoming will be officiated by Rev. Sam McElroy on Monday, July 1, 2013 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Viewing begins at 11:00 am with service following at 12:00. Graveside service will follow. The family would like to especially thank Dorothy's neighbors, David and Dottie Bryant.
