MONROE, DAVID E., age 80, of Birmingham, AL passed away on July 11, 2010. He served in the Alabama National Guard, Federalized to the U.S. Army in December 1950. Served in the Korean War part of 1951-1952, discharged in September 1952 with rank of Sargeant First Class. He was transferred to the Alabama Air Guard to complete reserve time, discharged with the rank of Technical Sargeant with 11 years of service. He was past Master of East Lake Masonic Lodge, a member of The American Legion Post #43. He worked with Campbell "66" Express and GFA Transportation. He was preceded in death by wife, Frances; parents, Daniel Duncan and Minnie Marie Crane Monroe; brothers, Daniel, James, and Robert; sister, Margaret Monroe. Survivors include his sister-in-law, Mildred George (Earl); nephew, Fred Daniel (Nancy); and special friend Jeanette Wright. A graveside service will be held on July 15, 2010 at 3:00PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service time. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
