Major Clarence F. Thomas, Jr., age 89 of Birmingham, AL passed away on October 13, 2010. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. He was a32 degree Mason (Birmingham Temple Lodge) and was a member of the Eastern Star. He was with the QB's Pilot Club. He served in WWII and the Korean War with the U.S. Air Force. He was a USAF (SAC) representative to the United Kingdom for the Air Traffic Control, after retiring from the USAF after 23 years of service he was a pilot for South Central Bell, Jetco, and UAB Air Ambulance. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Erslyne Thomas; daughter, Tracye Miller (Mike); sister, Jeanette Thomas; grandchildren, Savannah Miller and Jenna Miller; numerous other family members. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 14, 2010 from 5 to 7PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Service will be on Friday at 12 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens in Bessemer, AL. Rev. Bill Evans will be officiating over the service. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
