Betty Mills

Betty Mills left this world to go home to be with the Lord on April 16, 2011 at age, 85. She was born June 13, 1925 in Blount Co, AL. She was a resident of Tarrant, AL for 70 years. She was a wonderful mother, friend, grandmother and great-grandmother. Betty, as she was known to everyone, was active from raising her children to helping at the Senior Citizen Center. Her life was given helping everyone, never meeting a stranger. She always gave a kind word, cooked food, gave clothing or money to those in need. She always helped those who were sick by staying with them or whatever was needed. She had many friends she loved and cared for, that she talked to by phone. She always seemed to live and care for others and not herself. She always said "God will take care of me" and God did. Betty, Mother, Maw Ma, you will be missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Mills. She is survived by sons, Phil Mills and wife Mary of Pinson, AL, James "Mike" Mills of Cleveland, AL, Charles Mills and wife Theresa of Grayson Valley, and Robert Mills and wife Laurie of Huntsville, AL; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and special friend, William Handley. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 5-7pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 10am at Jefferson Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
