Benjamin Weldon

Benjamin Jackson Weldon, Sr., 81, of Hickory, N.C., formerly of Roswell, GA., passed away Friday, October 29, 2010. Mr. Weldon was born January 3, 1929 in Brighton, AL. to the late Howard and Sallie Mae Montgomery Weldon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter; Brenda Smith. He served in WWII with the Army Air Corps, was a member of Northbrook United Methodist Church in Roswell, GA. Survivors include his wife; Paula Boudrow Weldon of Hickory, N.C., a son and daughter in law; Benjamin Jackson Weldon, Jr. and wife Ann of Hickory, N.C., a daughter and son in law; Lynn Hudson and husband Russell of Roswell, GA., two brothers; Lelus Weldon of Hueytown, AL., and Bobby Weldon of Trussville, AL., a sister; Alice Riley of Huntsville, AL., five grandsons; Tyler and Martin Smith, Justin Hudson, Ryan and Matthew Weldon, a granddaughter; Jaclyn Hudson, three great granddaughters and one great grandson. A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 10:30am at Jefferson Memorial Gardens-East in Trussville, Al. with the Rev. Tom Parrish officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00-10:30am prior to the service at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
