Zelda Wilson

Zelda Falkner Wilson, 100, of Birmingham, AL passed away peacefully September 1, 2020. She was born on February 3, 1920, to the late Joel and Jessie Falkner in Sterrett, Alabama. She graduated from Vincent High School in 1938. She married the Arthur Fred Wilson in 1941. They were happily married for 44 years. Zelda is survived by two children, Fred Lamar Wilson (Karen) and Karen W. Andersen. Zelda is survived by three granddaughters, Deidre Jones, Caroline Andersen and Laura Andersen and two great granddaughters, Jade Jones and Grace Jones. She is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Zelda had many interests in her lifetime. She was a homemaker and cook. She and Fred were avid Birmingham Bulls hockey fans and enjoyed bass fishing together. She enjoyed gardening, church singings, painting and traveling. She joined First Baptist Church of Chalkville in 2000. On a trip to Alaska she caught a 45 pound salmon. There will be a chapel service at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 2 PM. Following the chapel service there will be a graveside for family only. In lieu of flowers donations to First Baptist Church of Chalkville, 2100 Old Springville Road, Birmingham, AL 35215.
