Louise Newman, 93, died December 7, 2021 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vinnia and Arden Stewart, her son, Stanley Newman; and her husband, Charles Newman. Louise and Charles met in Fort Myers, Florida where he was stationed during World War II. They married in October of 1945 and were devoted to one another for 74 years. Louise was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She cherished her family. Louise adored children and formed lasting bonds with them. She and Charles enjoyed animals and throughout their lives rescued and loved many cats and dogs. She was an enthusiastic, warm person. Highly creative, she cooked, canned, sewed, upholstered, crocheted, decorated and gardened with skill. She spent most of her life as a homemaker but also started a very successful business and in her later years managed a small business. Louise is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Dave Douglas and Cynthia and Alan Wisdom, her grandchildren, David Douglas, Alan Douglas, Adam Douglas, Nick Douglas, Koltier Newman, Colleen Newman, Elizabeth Elliott, Catherine Wisdom, and many great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
