Woodrow Jackson (Buster) Wingo Jr., 68, Truck Driver, passed on to that "highway in the sky" on December 21, 2019 to deliver his final load at his greatest destination. Buster was a lifelong resident of Birmingham, AL. He was born November 6, 1951 to Woodrow J Sr and Lillian P Wingo. Upon finishing school, he proudly served in the Army from 1972 to 1978. After an honorable discharge, he entered the world of trucking. He spent 41 years on the road (the last 16 years with Buddy Moore Trucking), but it wasn't all work and no play; he was also an avid fisherman, loving the solitude and peace he found on the lakes and rivers of Alabama. Buster was preceded in death by both his parents, his sister LeJeune Otwell, and his grandson, Joseph A Wingo. He leaves behind a great legacy: his 4 children - Woodrow J Wingo, III (Karen), Michelle Starr (Michael), Lisa Marie Brasher, and Michael A Wingo; his brother, Steve D Wingo; 9 wonderful grandchildren; 3 beautiful great-grandchildren (with 1 more on the way); and many nieces and other relatives. Visitation will be at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday December 28, 2019 from 1-2pm, followed immediately by a Chapel service. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to either Children's Hospital of Alabama (Buster's Mom worked there) or Truckers Final Mile (an organization dedicated to helping truckers and their families during emergencies) would be very deeply appreciated.
