Willie Byars

Willie B. Byars, age 81, of Birmingham, went to be with his Lord on September 27, 2011. He was retired from the US Postal Service. He was a member of Deerfoot Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, was a US Army veteran of the Korean War where he received two Purple Hearts. He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Byars, brothers Jeff, Lecil and Leon Byars. Services will be on Thursday Sept 29, at 11am at Deerfoot Baptist Church with burial in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Dr. Wayne Scott and Dr. Roger Willmore officiating. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Alma Byars, sons Gary (Diane) Byars, David Byars, sisters Betty Shoemake, Wynelle Smith, grandchildren Brandon, Adam, Rebecca and Brooke Byars.
