William E. "Billy" Pierce, Jr., 61 of Trussville passed away on September 24, 2010. Billy had been employed with Workshops for the Blind and Disabled, Inc. since 1970. During those 40 years, he was a member of the Workshops' Alley Cat Band from 1970 to the early 1990's and performed for President Nixon at the White House. He was an emerging artist in their art program and was loved by all of his co-workers. He will be truly missed by all who knew Billy for many years and those that only knew him for a short while. Survivors include two nephews, Larry Pierce Jr. and Brent Chapple; two aunts, Hilda "Aunt Hoot" Glasscock and Gigi Glasscock; two cousins, Doug Glasscock and family and Philip Winters,Jr.; numerous friends and other family members. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 5 beginning at 12:00PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with Chapel services at 2:00 PM with Rev. Larry Smith officiating and burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
