William Peek

William Vadus Peek, Jr., age 85 of Highland Lake, AL, passed away May 1, 2013. He was retired from US Steel and was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. Mr. Peek was past mayor of Highland Lake and also was a former councilman. He loved trains, square dancing and riding motorcycles.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Ellsie Peek and son, Douglas Peek; parents, W.V. and Laura Peek; and sister, Betty Lou Peek.

He is survived by his daughter, Joyce Thomas (Jim); his sons, William E. Peek, Sr. (Jo Ann) and Tim Peek (Sally); brother, Joe Peek (Shirley); grandchildren, Dr. Brad Thomas (Sharon), David Peek, Will Peek, Stevie Peek and Leah Peek; great grandchildren, Eric Thomas, Ryan Thomas, Kyle Thomas, Brooke Thomas, Ana Peek, and Sophie Peek. Visitation will be Monday, May 6, 2013 from 12:00 until 2:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Skip Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
