Bill passed away on May 14, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind Betty, his beloved wife of sixty-five years, with whom, after his retirement from Cowin Equipment Company in 1991, he enjoyed many years of national and international travel. He is also survived by his sons: William A. 'Bill" Jr, (Deborah); and Alan E. (Tammy). His grandchildren: Adam Mullins (Jamie); Lt. Matthew Mullins (Tammy); Dr. Sarah Roehl (Mark); Amy Holsomback (John) and Joshua Mullins; Ryley Canter (Ashley) and Tyler Canter (Amanda). Seven great grandchildren. His brothers Henry (Geneva); Richard (Vicki); Edward (Carol); and his sister DeAnn Tyler. His brother-in-law Bill Hamaker (Debbie). He was preceded in death by his parents V.G. and Lillian Mullins, his brothers Victor and Bob. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at St. Mary's on the Highland Episcopal Church, 1910 12th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35205. After the service the family will receive friends on the Living Room of the church. Burial will take place at 2pm on Wednesday in the Garden of the Good Shepherd at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East in Trussville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Mary's on the Highland at the above address. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the Clergy and Parishioners of St. Mary's, to the staff on 7 East and 7 West at St. Vincent's Hospital East, and to his St. Vincent's Hospice Care Givers.
