William M. Lammons, born December 3, 1937 in Jacksonville, FL passed away April 11, 2015. He graduated from Andrew Jackson High School, Florida Christian College, earned a BSBA from David Lipscomb University and a MBA from Samford University. He was a longtime employee of U.S. Pipe, and retired from Jim Walter Computer Services where he was a Vice President. After retirement, he was an adjunct professor of accounting at Jefferson state Jr. College and Birmingham- Southern College. He served in the U.S. Army in Orleans, France. He was a faithful member of Sun Valley Church of Christ, and served as a bible class instructor using text prepared by him from the Old and New Testament. Preceding him in death were his parents U.K. and Blanche Lammons, sister Dona Lammons and brother Kenneth M. Lammons. Survivors include his wife Barbara Lammons, and son Michael W. Lammons, several nieces and a nephew. Bill had a beautiful tenor voice and loved to sing. A special friend once told him to "Sing On" and we know he is with his Savior and the angels "Singing On". And to my husband and best friend, who through the time of his long illness, often greeted me with "There you are sweetheart", till we meet again rest with your Lord and Savior "knowing you will always be loved and missed". Services will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 15, at 11am with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be from 10am until 11am Wednesday with Brother Steve Murrell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association of Central Alabama or the Birmingham Humane Society. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
