William Gibson

Gibson, William Taylor, age 79 of Trussville, AL, died peacefully on February 29, 2012.

He is survived by his sisters Grace Vaughn, Margaret O'Brien and Mary Jones. Also survived by daughter, Gail (Dale) Gibson; son, Don (Danielle) Gibson: and grandchildren Chris Gibson, Kala Gibson, Wyatt Gibson, Graham Gibson, Owen Gibson.

Taylor lived most of his years in Birmingham, AL and was active in the lives of his children and grandchildren.

He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War earning the China Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He retired from ACIPCO and after 41 years of service.

A faithful member of South Roebuck Baptist Church, the family requests in lieu of flowers that any gifts be donated to South Roebuck Baptist Church.

The family would like to offer special thanks to his caregivers at Brookwood Medical Center.

Services will be held on Saturday March 3 at 12:00 pm in Jefferson Memorial Chapel with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm Saturday with Pastor Chris Crain presiding.
