William Chappelear

W. Theron Chappelear, 88 of Birmingham, AL passed away on February 10, 2010. He was a Lay Minister, Sunday School Teacher, and member of Pinson United Methodist Church. Formerly a member of Stockham UMC and St. Paul's UMC. He was a Mason for over 50 years, and retired from Chicago Bridge and Iron Company. He served with the U.S. Army 85th Mountain Infantry in Italy during WWII, and was a long time member of the Greater Birmingham Bowling Assn. He was preceded in death by wife, Eva S. Chappelear and parents Ernest E. and Arcilla I. Chappelear. He is survived by five children, Helen (Keith) Davidson, Bill (Jane) Chappelear, Lonnie (Robert) Helms, Bob (Jean) Chappelear, and Annette (Rodger) Darden, his very special friend, Eleanor Hardwick, brother, Harvey Virgil Chappelear, and sister, Virginia C. Unkle. Grandchildren: Jim (Leslie) Ray, Donal (Carrol) Chappelear, Sheryl Davidson, Nathan (Karen) Davidson, Scott (Holly Ann) Chappelear, Brandon (Christi) Muir, Brent Muir, and Christi Chappelear. Nine great-grandchildren, and a number of step grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, February 11, 2010 from 5 to 7PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be on Friday at 12:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Rachel Gonia will be officiating the services.
