Wiley Key

Wiley Raymon Key, age 93, passed away on November 11, 2013. Mr. Key was a retired minister who served his Lord faithfully and was an associate minister with New Haven Baptist Church in Ashville. Mr. Key served in the US Marine Corps during WW II in the south pacific on Tarawa and stateside during Korea in the Air Force. He retired from Joslyn Manufacturing. He was preceded in death by his wife Wilmar E. Key, parents Elzy and Ethyl Key, 4 brothers and 1 sister. Survivors include his daughter, Loretta Brasher (Allen); son, Gaddis E. Key (Linda); and 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; as well as his special friend Peggy Cash. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 13, from 6PM - 8PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Thursday, November 14, at 2PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with burial at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. The family would like to thank the staff at Col. Robert Howard State Veterans Home in Pell City, CNA's Latasha Stamps, Jasmine Taylor, Jessica Wilson, Deborah Lawrence, Jewel Chandler, Deborah Chapman, 2nd Shift Nurses and CNA's and Alacare Hospice.
