Wilbur Gaston Sr

Wilbur Brittain Gaston Sr., age 92, of Montevallo, passed away December 24, 2016. He was born May 2, 1924 in Fayetteville, NC. He was retired as a VP of Marketing at a Window Manufacturer after 30 years. Then went into the leaded and stained glass business, making beautiful doors and windows in the southeast. Wilbur was affiliated with the Birmingham Sales Executive Club, Marketing Club, held office of Secretary and on Speakers Bureau, Homebuilders Association C.S.I., member of Board of Directors, Gospel Publishing Board of Westside Alliance Church. Designed emergency oxygen for B-29 Air-Sea rescue craft. He was preceded in death by his parents James J. Gaston and Genie Helton Gaston, brothers and sisters Joseph Gaston, Wiley Gaston, Mary E. Stephens and Frances Acton, daughters Glenda Crawford and Erin Denee Gaston. Chapel services will be held on Thursday, Dec 29, at Noon with visitation from 10am until service time. Rev. Steve Kilpatrick will be officiating. He is survived by his wife Peggie, daughters Rebecca Hill (Gary), Deborah McNamee (Mike), Wilbur Brittain Gaston Jr. (Melody), brothers Warren Gaston (Barbara), Gene Gaston (Carole), sister Charlotte Gaston Thompson, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
