Waymon Francis Elsberry age 84, of Springville, AL passed away on April 30, 2014. Waymon was employed by United Food and Commercial Workers Union-Local 1657. He was a former employee of the Hayes International Aircraft and worked in the American Labor Movement through UFCW-Local 1657 as organizer and President. He served as Local Union President and retired after 35 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fultondale. The family will receive friends from 11am until 12 noon at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville on Saturday, May 3rd; funeral service will immediately follow at 12 noon at Jefferson Memorial Chapel with John Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson memorial Gardens East. Waymon was preceded in death by his parents, Eva and Paul Elsberry; sister, Louise Elsberry Lowery; brothers, Wilson Elsberry and Howard Elsberry. Survivors include his loving wife, Carolyn Sue Elsberry; daughters, Janice Lynn Elsberry Lewis and Kimberly Dawn Christenberry Trull; sons, John Paul Elsberry, Robert Wayne Elsberry, Jerry David Elsberry, Michael Cone and Chris Christenberry; sister, Pauline Snow, of Decatur, AL; brother-in-law, Bobby Sloan; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great-great grandchildren; five nephews, two great nephews and five great-great nephews.
