WHITED, WALTER COY, 58, of Trussville Alabama passed away on Friday May 27, 2011. Walter was born April 2,1953 in Austin, Texas to the late Major Walter Coy Whited USAF Retired and Marianne Roberts Whited. Walter grew up in Birmingham graduating from Woodlawn High School in 1971. While in high school Walter lettered in track and was a member of The Warblers Club. Walter served in the Alabama Army National Guard. He retired from TSI Solutions in2007. Walter is survived by his wife of 32 years, Johnnie Baskin Whited, a brother Wayne Robert Whited (Becky) and a sister Martha Gale Patton (Mike). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Walter was an active member at Clear Branch United Methodist Church with a special love for the Celebrate Recovery Ministry. He loved the Lord and expressed it with his singing abilities with the Praise Team at his church. Walter was a kind, compassionate, loving, example of a man, devoted to his wife and above all, faithful to his Lord. The family would like to thank Dr. Kevin Windsor, Dr. Clinton Holladay and their staff for the excellent medical care and the friendships that developed during Walt's illness. Funeral services will be held at Clear Branch United Methodist Church, Argo, AL with Pastor Robin Scott and Pastor Jerre Rhoades officiating. The service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 12:00 noon with visitation at the church from 10:00-12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Trussville. Pallbearers will be: Sam Carlin, Brian Whited, Brandon Whited, Brett Whited, Phillip Walker, Charlie Boone, Terry Collier, and Neal Alien. The family requests that donations be made to the Clear Branch United Methodist Church, 8051 Glenn Road, Trussville, AL 35173. Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home directing.
