Walter Burton

Walter "Richard" Burton, age 80, of Trussville, AL passed away on April 28, 2015. Richard was a member of Faith Community Fellowship. He retired from Birmingham City after serving for over 25 years as supervisor for Street and Sanitation. He enjoyed hunting and farming but most of all spending time with his family and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Richard Burton; daughter-in-law, Theresa Burton; grandson, Stevie Burton and great grandson, Will Olive. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jean Burton; sons, Joey Burton and Steve Burton (Dianne); sister, Theus Baty; grandchildren: Teresa Olive (Robby), Matt Burton (Angela), Cody Burton (Heather Foust) and Erica Kerner (Joseph); five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral for Richard will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 1st at Jefferson Memorial Chapel with visitation held one hour prior. Burial will immediately follow the chapel service at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery 9417 Thermal Road Warrior, AL 35180. Pastors, Steve McCarty and David Awtrey are officiating. Jefferson Memorial in Trussville is directing.
