Vivian Smith Rogers, 95, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2014 at her home in Trussville, AL. A life-long resident of the Birmingham area, she was a charter member of Eastside Baptist Church. Vivian enjoyed sewing, shopping, soap operas (her "stories" as she liked to call them), could not have a meal without a side of tomato, and she will be remembered for her passionate storytelling. She is preceded in death by her husband John R. Rogers, Sr.; son, John R. Rogers, Jr.; granddaughter, Jill R. Harris; and 9 brothers and sisters. Vivian is survived by her daughters, Joan R. Turner (Clifford); Joy R. Howard (Joseph); 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 10:30-11:30am on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Jefferson memorial Trussville, followed by a private graveside service.
