Vera Sanderson

Vera M. Sanderson, age 94, passed away on January 7th, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Della Sanderson, parents Mr. and Mrs. John D. McFarland, sister Mrs. Nell Jordan, and brothers Norman, Herman and Daniel McFarland. She is survived by her children Mr. David Sanderson (Deana) and Mrs. Vera Jadine Blair (John); her grandchildren Commander USN Brian D. Sanderson (April), Mr. John Christopher Sanderson (Meg), Mrs. Jill Blair Peterson (Evan), Mrs. Kerin Blair Guidry (Ben) and Dr. Robert J. Blair ( JoBeth) and eight great grandchildren; Todd and Scott Sanderson, Lily and Reece Sanderson, Katelyn and Wyatt Guidry, Samuel Peterson and Sylvia Blair. Mrs. Sanderson was active in the Central Baptist Church in Tarrant, Tarrant Elementary and High School PTA, and Mother Advisor of the Rainbow Girls. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother playing games such as turning fire flies into pennies and picking dandelions to cook into greens. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. on Thursday at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home 1591 Gadsden Highway, Birmingham, Alabama 35235. Funeral services will be held January 12 at 2:00 P.M. followed by a graveside service at Forest Hills Cemetery, 431 60th Street N., Birmingham, Al. 35212.
