Troy Hughes

Troy Hughes, 88, beloved Spouse, Father, Father-in-law, Grandfather, Great Grand Father, Son, and Brother, was called to his eternal resting place on October 16, 2023. He entered this world on February 24, 1935 in Birmingham, AL, born to Henry and Letha Hughes. He is preceded in death by brothers Earl and Ellis Moore, and sister Vaneesa Naff. He is survived by his spouse Martha Hughes; sons Chris and Tim Hughes; daughter-in-laws Karen and Kay Hughes; granddaughters Haley Hughes, Taylor Hughes, Megan Hughes, Jennifer Courville, Melani Broadwell; grandson Blake Anderson; great grandson Weston Adams; sister Joyce Foster and a host of nieces and nephews. Troy attended Woodlawn High School. He worked for Sloss Industries his entire career, retiring in 1997. He also served in the Air Force Air Guard from 1966 - 1992 attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He was called to service during Operation Desert Storm. Troy will be remembered as a dedicated and talented Little League Baseball coach and avid Alabama Football fan. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023 at 12 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be an hour prior to services.
